PIPE SUPPORT SYMBOLS

Generally CADWorx uses the standard GUIDE type of symbol on the ISOGEN output irrespective of restraint type you have used in CADWorx, but there are ways to change the support symbol on your isogen output by entering the appropriate value in the TAG field on your CEDIT dialogue box. We have listed the available options below and an example of how to enter it in your tag line of your support.

SKEY types:

SKEY=ANCH
SKEY=DUCK
SKEY=GUID
SKEY=SKID
SKEY=SPRG
SKEY=HANG

Support Direction:
SUPPORT-DIRECTION NORTH
SUPPORT-DIRECTION SOUTH
SUPPORT-DIRECTION EAST
SUPPORT-DIRECTION WEST
SUPPORT-DIRECTION UP
SUPPORT-DIRECTION DOWN

EXAMPLE

A input in the tag line must be exactly like the line we have listed below you can change the variables for whatever type of support you need.

SKEY=HANG SUPPORT-DIRECTION UP

If you need to tag your support just enter it before the code. The PS-1 will come through by it's self on the iso.

To add detail sketches to a CADWorx component 

To add detail sketches to a part in CADWorx, the trick is getting the information into the component so that when you do the PCF file the detail sketch file name is in the file. We assuming you know how to setup the sketches in ISOGEN Project Manager.

At the AutoCAD command line type ISOGENADDDATA to attach the file name. When you setup the project manager, you give a location of the detail sketches so all you need to do is type in the file name of the detail sketch. i.e. flowmeter.dwg

You will need to setup your drawing definition file (DDF) to place the sketch, but using ISOGENADDDATA will get you rolling.

Assigning different shapes in ISOGEN for CADWorx User defined components

When a user shape is used in CADWorx, it is normally given an ISOGEN SKEY of NCFL. This is represented on the isometric by a rectangle.

But this can be changed by a new SKEY by typing “SKEY=XXXX” in the Tag

field of the component edit dialogue box (where XXXX equals the new SKEY, which must be a 4 letter key which is not currently in use). ISOGEN will use this SKEY instead of the default.

In the ISOGEN Symbol Editor a new symbol must be created for the new SKEY. This must be based on an existing component of a similar type. For example if you wanted to create an alternative symbol for a ball valve, you could create a new SKEY but it would need to be based on an old SKEY for the ball valve BV**.

In this case for the new SKEY ZZFL it is being based on the standard SKEY for a sightglass SG**. The ** represents the end connection. If the selected Old SKEY has variable end conditions (eg SG**) then any new SKEY must have end conditioned defined by its last 2 characters, ie **, BW, SC, FL, SW, PL, LC, LR or MP.

In the ISOGEN Symbol Editor select redefining miscellaneous fittings from the drop down list then select new – create new symbol in the current set from the Symbol menu.

Select the Old Symbol Key as SG** and type in the new symbol key as ZZ**. Select create symbol.

Then draw the new symbol. For help on how to do this see the symbols editor help file Symbols_Help.pdf in the ISOGEN directory.

On the file menu select save as – save the symbol set to a new file.

This new symbol set must be referenced in the Isogen Project Manager.


BOLT LENGTH

Set ISOGEN AText 359 to DIAXLG. This will append the bolt length to the size for display in the size column of the material list on your isometric
538 (Normally blank) If set, will be used to offer an alternative form of Bolt

Diameter / Length output on any style of Material List.
